What's in a name?

I've gotten a lot of questions about the name Storey. Friends and relatives seem to think it fits, especially with our bookwormish family, but we didn't name her Storey because we love storytime at the library so much. The love of the name did, appropriately, begin with a book: Peter and the Starcatchers. Haven't read it? You really should. It's a fabulous (unofficial) prequel to Peter Pan and was authored by two extraordinary authors, Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. It would make a wonderful bedtime read aloud to your kids..... The book dedication is written to the children of the authors, who inspired them to write it after they questioned the origins of Pan and Captain Hook from the novel by JM Barrie. One of the names included is Pearson's daughter, Storey . Since reading the book (and two subsequent Pan novels) it has been in the running for "Favorite Girl's Name". Thankfully, Zak loved it too and although it wasn't officially her name until we met her for the first time, Storey was always at the top of our list (other candidates were Lucy and Lila).

Wasn't that a great story?

It's okay to groan....but that's one of the best parts---we've discovered the abundance of cheesy puns with her name!!
