It's Party Time!

Last Friday, Jakson and his little friend Natalie had a combined birthday party at our neighborhood park. It was really low key, we asked guests not to bring gifts and only invited 6 or 7 kids from their nursery class. As party favors, we gave away the balloons that we had used to decorate the tables. Exactly what a two year old wants!!
Unfortunately, Jakson was so excited about his party, that he woke up at 3 AM and would not go back to sleep. Even when he was a newborn, he never did this-so we were really surprised (and grumpy) about it. Consequently, our morning looked like this.....

Do small children not have bones in their neck or something?

Even as we walked over to the park he could hardly keep his eyes open, but once he saw Natalie and the balloons, he realized that it was party time!! We let the kids play for awhile and then served cupcakes.

Holly, our resident cake decorator, made cute bears for the birthday kids-they both came up with creative eating methods....

The kids played for a little while afterward and then everyone went home to take naps. All in all, I was very happy with how the party turned out!!

PS to Grandparents-there are a lot more pictures, but I didn't want to post them all here. Once I get our new computer, I'll put up a link to a web album so that you can see Jak partying to your heart's content!!
