Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree...

I made Zak promise me that if we stayed in Phoenix for Christmas this year, we could get a real tree. The fake one that we have been using is the tree that I bought for my classroom 6 years ago for about $15 and it looked like the Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Zak found a coupon online for a local tree farm, so for Family Home Evening on Monday night, we headed out to find the perfect tree-with a couple of detours to pick up a tree stand and skirt. I wanted to get some pictures of Jakson wandering through the trees with our new camera, but he didn't feel like wandering, he wanted to run!! We were able to catch him long enough to take these...What's with the face?
The farm had one of those blow up bouncy castles, so we finally gave up and just let him bounce in there and took turns looking around.
We eventually settled on a tree- the one that both of us had looked at the most because it was right next to the bouncy castle- and Zak loaded it on top of the car. Unfortunately, he tied the tree on before we got into the car, so the doors were all tied shut. As a result, we were forced to climb through the windows. If Jakson were older, I'm sure it would have been incredibly embarrassing.
The tree looks great and so far Jakson hasn't pulled it down on himself, although last night he was playing with the branches and I think they must have attacked him because he walked away crying like he was wounded. He hasn't gone near it since. Let's hope he's learned a valuable lesson, but if that's not the case, I only hung up metal ornaments!

Jakson's face? What about Zak? That's the best smile on his face I've ever seen in a picture of him. How did you get him to do it? I loved the part about climbing through the car windows. Sounds like something on a TV sitcom. Can't wait to see the tree in all its glory.

I just wanna say that Jakson is soooo stinkin cute! And I totally agree with kid proof nativities and how strange it is when kids refuse to wear pants (mine are going through a shirtless phase?!)
