One Man's Trash......

Zak and I went to a bunch of garage sales yesterday and noticed as we drove around that there was a lot of stuff piled up along the curbs. Phoenix has a bulk trash pick up service and we figured it was the neighborhood's turn. You have to understand that I was raised with a mother who would stop the car at the side of the road to pick up an old t-shirt from the middle of the road, take it home, wash it, and make one of us wear it-so I have no quams when it comes to thrift shops and the like. At one particular house, we noticed that the people had put out the walls of a plastic Little Tikes Castle Playhouse. You're throwing that away? We weren't sure if all of the pieces were there, but later last night we made three trips back and forth-we waited until it was really dark (Zak suggested we dress in all black) and snuck over there-headlights off and everything- to bring it home. It was actually ALL there and in great condition!! Zak and I were so excited and have already set it up in the backyard. Good thing we don't have any teenagers, they would be mortified.

This was so funny! I'm glad to see you're still the same old Bethy. The Beth who during college bought 5 lbs. of hamburger and divided it up into tiny little foil packets because it's cheaper to buy in bulk. Looks like you've found your soulmate in Zak! Jak will have fun with that castle--Ethan loves stuff like that.

i was going to say what audra said - it's nice to know that not much has changed over the years...
p.s. - i'm glad your mom washed the shirts she found in the street before she had you wear them.
